Real Life Pentecost Experience

How Jesus Speaks to Us And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were EPA/ Boris Roessler

My wife Mary and I were visiting our friends Ken and Carol in their house on a Pentecost Sunday. We went to socialize and we started the visit by breaking open the Bible and reading Acts 2, because that describes the original Pentecost day.

We read the following lines:

"And suddenly there came from the sky
a noise like a strong driving wind,
and it filled the entire house in which they were.
Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire,
which parted and came to rest on each one of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit"

Then a freaky and wonderful thing happened. We all heard the wind pick up strength and start blowing suddenly against the house and trees around us. It was loud! It was unmistakable. We all stopped and stared at each other with eyes wide open in amazement. We felt as if the Lord were telling us that He was still here with us in the modern era, and that the promise made 2000 years earlier still holds true today. What a thrill to be a part of that moment. If others of you have experienced anything similar, please write your story here for others to read.

Just this morning as we were having breakfast, on this Pentecost day of 2012, I asked Mary whether she remembers that day many years ago, and she said with a smile, "Of course!".

You know that an event was special when you remember it many years later as if it were yesterday.

My friend Ken, who was there for this event, saw this article just after Pentecost and confirmed his memory of it by writing, "Let the Fire Fall!"
